Who would you electing as fictional President?

    January 4th, 2012 by admin

Today official starts the 2012 Presidential elections with the Iowa Caucus.   Though to date, voters haven’t been overly enthused by any of the candidates.   So let’s forget them all and instead elected a perfect candidate?  Of course that’s a dream but there’re plenty of ideal candidates to choose from, just turn to Hollywood.  TV shows and movies alike have created some of the best, albeit fictional, political saviors.  Here are some of the best embodiments of our president by Hollywood movie stars.

One is Jed Bartlet from “The West Wing”.  Bartlett was played by Martin Sheen and the show was a great success, winning some Golden Globe and Emmy Awards.  One of those many Golden Globes even belonged to Sheen, winning  for the category of Best Performance by an Actor.  The show displays a great portrayal of the inside antics of a political administration.

Another favorite is Michael Douglass, staring as Andrew Shephred in “The American President”.  The movie is a feel good comedy/drama that follows a widowed Commander-in-Chief as he falls hard for a political lobbyist.  We’ve never had a single president in office before and you can’t help but route for Michael Douglass in this one.
