Now that I’ve calmed down a bit

bad tips, entitlement junkies, ghetto, redneck people, white trash Add comments

When I wrote my last post, I was a little pissed off from work.  It was a bad night for money.  Once again, the entitlement junkies struck.  I had a lecture from a “guest” on how I should be glad to serve them because they served my ancestors.  I couldn’t reply without losing my job, but that just pissed me off.  Here lately, there’s been a major influx of people like these.  TSU students are a big one.  They get out of school, and they come for the weekend to make my life a living Hell.

Then we have the trailer trash.  Once again, last night was full of it.  It’s almost like they parked their double-wides in the parking lot before they came in for a beer and to watch the game.   In the bowling alley, it was literally hick hell.  There were mullets, there were daisy dukes, there were cowboy hats and tight as hell jeans.  I swear I think there was even a horse parked outside.  They didn’t know how to tip either.  The only things these people were good at were barking orders for alcohol, and talking with a very thick country accent.  Almost a Texan accent.  It was scary.

I’m sure these people have all come out of their outhouses and projects to eat before, why is it that none of them know how to tip.  We were nice, friendly, and happy, the same as we are with our other guests, but somehow the two above think they’re above tipping.  I know they had money.  They had cash in pockets and purses, credit cards, debit cards.  I don’t care if you are saving an extra dime for that next beer, you need to leave a fucking tip when you come out.  We have bills to pay just like you.

To all of you above, don’t bother coming back.  I’d rather you burned than serve you again.

hi Ribeye; one thing that is very different where I live in BC is that tipping seems more like a kindness than an expectation. Whenever I’ve gone out to any restaurant of higher calibre than McDonald’s, I certainly try to leave extra for the server because it’s a nice thing to do; it was always my notion that the server KEPT whatever money was given in addition to the bill. I didn’t know about a pooling of tips that had to be distributed evenly ~ if I understand you correctly? It’d never be my intention for the server to suffer a lack on my account, so from here, if I can’t afford to tip at least 15%, I won’t patronize the restaurants unless someone is treating me.
      Thanks for the eye-opener.

oh, in addition: it’s probably because I rarely DO eat out on my own funds that this wasn’t automatically known. It’s not the sort of thing that would come up in a conversation with me because I am on a very limited, fixed income. Seldom do I treat myself to a restaurant of any tier above the aforementioned, and even THAT is infrequent.
.. just in case anyone else from BC wondered howcome I wouldn’t have a clue… :)

I’d tell them that my family didn’t come to this country until after the Civil War.

Get the hell away from ________________ or any other corporate place in this town! I found a great little place that is run by a Chef. I rarely deal with hoodrats, rednecks, ghetto princesses, or hoochie mamas!
The money is better, the food is better and you dont have to put up with nearly as many assholes like you do in a chain!!! Go to Nashvilleorigionals.com and pick a place to put in an application, there are tons of them! Good luck!

If you all notice, there are blanks in the above comment. The reason for this is, while most of us know where I work, I cannot for job-security reasons post the name of the place. I post too many things about the company. This is also the first time I’ve ever edited a comment, but once again, I cannot have the name of the company on here.

      Thanks, and sorry about that.

I for one hopes Ribeye stays put. His stories are hilarious — more so because they are true. It would be so boring around here if he lost his “A” material.
