Sleeping and Driving is not a good mix

Hey everyone.  I know I promised you a post earlier in the week but things happen sometimes to prevent that.  I’m still hoping to get a Round Table up soon, so if any of you are interested in getting your site promoted, or helping to promote other blogs from the service industry, please send me a message from the Contact page and I will gladly let you know all that it entails.

First off, I have to tell you all what happened earlier this week.  As you all know, I’ve been working two jobs for about a month now.  This past Wednesday, I was working at both of them.  After getting off from my day shift at the new job, I started to leave the “Mall with no name” to take a break between shifts.  I got on the highway that’s next to my place of business, and realizing that I was about to fall asleep, got directly off of the highway at the next exit.  At that point, I had a bit of double vision, something I haven’t had since I was still drinking and other substances a little over 2 years ago.  The exit that I took had a roundabout just after the ramp.  I made it around this circle of doom, shaking my head trying to clear it and stay awake.  Next thing I know, I opened my eyes and the median was coming toward me.  It’s not a big median with a guard rail, just one of those grassy knolls with the concrete surrounding it.  I swerve to miss it, but I don’t swerve enough and my front tire slams into it and bounces off.  A loud bang later, and I know that the tire is toast.  I limp up the hill a little and pull off to the side of the road.  I check my trunk because I’d never had a flat in the Raging T-bird before, and I didn’t even know if I had a spare or not.  Turns out, I had the spare, just not the jack.  I call a family member who does have a jack, and wait in the hot sun for him to show.

Thursday consisted of hunting for a worthy tire for the car, and getting my cricket interwebs reconnected so I can use my laptop at other places than the “luxurious one bedroom apartment”, like I am now, at work at the new job.  It’s nice that this one I don’t have to wait tables.  I don’t do much here really….

As for the falling asleep while I’m driving, well….I’ve been fighting that very issue every time I leave work and every time I go somewhere for the past few weeks.  Just one of the drawbacks of working two jobs and being tired all the time I guess.  I’ve fallen asleep before behind the wheel, just never actually hit anything..at least not to my knowledge.

I’m working on the post about last weekend, at least some of last weekend where I got to take a drink from a woman.
